                Statement of Purposes as of Monday 23 January 2023

  1. The name of the incorporated collective altered to Daylesford Regional Arts Cooperative.

  2. The acronym is DRAC

Vision for 2022-23

(a) to bring artists from Daylesford and Regions together to exhibit, promote and advocate for the creation of a sustainable Arts community within the Shire.

(b) to promote friendship, goodwill and cultural understanding between artists, audiences and all those involved with DRAC art exhibitions and other related cultural activities.

 (c) DRAC will be open to all artists including First Nations artists; artists from any cultural background; artists of all abilities and disabilities; art students, community, emerging and/or professional artists.

 (d) to promote all forms of visual arts such as; painting, drawing, wood work, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, fine art photography, digital art, textiles, all forms of craft etc.

(e) to promote; music, singing, poetry, theatre, multi-media art forms etc.

(f) to hold exhibitions in Daylesford and Regions in venues that are community assets,

temporarily gifted by Council or by other private or commercial interests. DRAC will endeavour to

keep the cost of the venues at either no-cost or low cost to the exhibitors.

(g) to encourage DRAC members to work together to create, set-up, watch over, work at, and promote DRAC exhibitions and events.

(h) to allow DRAC members the opportunity to sell their artworks.

(i) to work together at agreed communal social activities that will benefit our community e.g. raise money for community defibrillators; raise money for art materials for community centres, schools.

Vision for 2023-25

work towards the goal of securing a permanent home for DRAC in the Daylesford area and for DRAC to create:

* art exhibitions

* art lessons and art work shops

* a space for all community members learn about the arts

* a space to run a wide variety of community arts activities

* a register of DRAC artists  

Priorities 2022-23

(k) to become the advisor to Local Government for Arts Policy and Planning

(l) to become the central advocate for the Hepburn Shire community arts and artists.

(m) to offer our creative services to the Shire and work with other community organisations to make our region a vibrant and creative place to live

(n) to promote the health and well being benefits of engaging with a Creative Community of Practice.
